Captive HardwareCaptive hardware, a category of electronic hardware, are screws, nuts and studs which are pressed into sheet steel, aluminum, stainless, fiber or brass. Typically a hydraulic or electric press is used to press the captive hardware (also, "captive inserts") into sheet materials. Captive hardware allows a flush surface, or flush mount, on one side of the sheet and is very useful in many applications where a flush surface is required, like PC Boards. Captive hardware fasteners are made either by screw machine or by cold forming. Typical materials for captive hardware are stainless, brass, steel, and aluminum. Sonfast imports captive hardware in large quantities and makes them available at very competitive prices. Standard configurations using P.E.M. standards are available, in addition to specialty configurations according to customer requirements. PPAP III is also available on all production runs. |
